Memo: Invitation to Participate in Review of Sex Education Curriculum
Dear Breckenridge Community,
We hope this letter finds you well. The Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB) of Breckenridge Community Schools is reaching out to engage our community in a crucial process of reviewing our Sex Education Curriculum.
Our SEAB is committed to ensuring that the curriculum, materials, and methods used in HIV/STI and sex education instruction are not only comprehensive but also align with the values and expectations of our community. As part of our ongoing efforts, we invite you to participate in reviewing these educational components through two public hearings.
These public hearings allow community members to express their thoughts, concerns, and perspectives on the content and delivery of sex education in our school district. Your input is valuable, and we believe that involving the community in this process will contribute to a well-rounded and inclusive curriculum. During these hearings, members of the Sex Education Advisory Board will be present, and you can preview the curriculum before the hearings with the links provided below. Please note that if you wish, you will be provided an opportunity to exercise your right to excuse your child from instruction in reproductive health without penalty.
Public hearings will be held in the high school library/media center. Please note you may attend either meeting.
First Hearing: Second Hearing:
February 12th at 3:15 pm February 19th at 5 pm

Additionally, please note that before any lesson or instruction is implemented, approval will be required from the Breckenridge Community School Board.
